I want to Thank everyone for the wonderful food that saved us for 3 weeks, so we didn't have to prepare food as we were busy every moment with Roger. Thank you to everyone that brought food on the meal train. It was a wonderful program and the food was delicious; a wonderful asset to our church. Thank you church for flowers, gifts, visits—special visits to Roger while in the hospital and personal visits with him at home on hospice. That meant so much to him. Hallelujah! UPCOMING EVENTS

GRIEF SEMINAR

Hurricanes and Other Losses: Navigating Grief and Embracing Healing

Presented by Alicia Patterson

April 25, 20246 p.m. to 9 p.m.  |  Forest Lake Church Lobby

One cannot get through life without pain. . . What we can do is choose how to use the pain life presents to us. –Bernie S. Siegel

Living means losing. There are so many good things in life, but there is always change. And change means loss. Even positive change can bring loss. You have a baby, for example, and it’s wonderful! But you will not do a “quick run to the store” for decades, you will lose sleep, and “free time” will quickly fade from your vocabulary!

Then there are the devastating losses. Unexpected. Unwanted. How do we survive? Is living a fulfilling life again even possible? This seminar is designed to guide you through healthy responses to grief and provide you with the courage to embrace the journey of healing

Key Insights:

Embracing change and loss: Understanding that life's changes, even the painful ones, can be opportunities for growth and transformation.

Finding resilience in the face of adversity: Developing the inner strength and tools to navigate the storms of life and emerge stronger on the other side.

PRAYERS FOR STUDENTS

Do you have a passion for the spiritual lives of our students? High school can be a time of tremendous growth, but also anxiety. Every Wednesday, we write personalized notes (and add a cookie!)  to the high school students in our church to let them know they are loved, valued, and prayed for. Join us at 8:15 in the Connection Center off the main lobby to help. If you have a student who does not attend FLA that you would like us to send a note to, please contact Christina Algeo at calgeo79@gmail.com
