MEMORIALS

Don Aldridge (wife is Lillian) long time member and missionary who held numerous positions within the denomination, passed away on November 27. Don was known at FLC for his enthusiastic children’s stories. A private memorial service was held on November 28.

Elizabeth (Libby) Stephens passed away on November 26. Libby and her husband “Uncle Larry” (deceased Feb 10) ministered to young people for many years at Forest Lake Academy and were dearly loved. There will be a joint Memorial Service for Libby and Larry on Sabbath, March 1, at 4 p.m. in Forest Lake Church.

Keila Wyand (husband Al, deceased 2018) passed away on December 14. A funeral service was held at Forest Lake Church on December 19 at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to "Stand Up to Cancer."

MAKING MARRIAGE WORK

If you are looking to enhance your marriage or navigate problematic issues, the Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work seminar is a great place to start. If your relationship is strong, this class will provide the tools and insights to make your relationship even better. If you find yourself in distress, this class can provide a road map for repair. Join us Wednesday evenings in January for an exploration into the seven principles Dr. Gottman has discovered to enhance and grow your marriage into the best it can be.

PRAYERS FOR STUDENTS

Do you have a passion for the spiritual lives of our students? High school can be a time of tremendous growth, but also anxiety. Every Wednesday, we write personalized notes (and add a cookie!)  to the high school students in our church to let them know they are loved, valued, and prayed for. Join us at 8:15 in the Connection Center off the main lobby to help. If you have a student who does not attend FLA that you would like us to send a note to, please contact Christina Algeo at calgeo79@gmail.com.

    FOR SINGLE PARENTS

    There aren’t many people who truly understand the unique challenges single parents face. You deeply desire to do what’s best for your kids, but sometimes it’s all you can do to survive from one day to the next. Single & Parenting is a special group that will bring hope to your life. We’d love for you to join us.

    Meets once a month on the 4th Sabbath 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

    Flex and Stretch

    Come join us to develop physical and spiritual strengths as we flow through the class with intentional focus on scripture and God’s grace, the leading of the Holy Spirit and the Wholeness of God. The exercise and stretching level is beginner to intermediate and participants should be able to go from a seating to a standing position. Please bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water for hydration.

PRISON MINISTRY

BIBLES for Local Inmates — We are collecting Bibles to share with inmates at the Orange County jail. If you have any lightly used or new Bibles please place them in the Container provided in the church lobby Connections Room. Preferred Bibles would have soft covers, newer versions such as NIV or NKJV, and larger size print. Thank you for your faithful support of the Prison Ministries activities.
